Hands on the master. Black Diamond Blues

Hey everyone,

So that's it folks, the end of a long process ! The new amute album, titled "Black Diamond Blues" is ready to leave my sweet home and maybe find yours soon as it goes in production tomorrow. The mastering is done, the cover is done, the website is done, the blog has a new design, I am working too and I am actually rehearsing like hell for the future shows (if they come). And as life is full of ups and downs let me tell you that I am already writting the follow up (well it's the early early stage, I just rearranged the studio).

I'm looking for shows through out Europe from now on, if you feel like having me play let me just tell you that I don't charge flights (so it's said). I think the future live shows will be a little different than what you used to see from me in the past. Most of them will be unique and a mix of improvisation and written stuff. Heavy is the word. Quiet is the noise.

Cheers, you'll updated soon.
Thanks to all who helped in the process by the way !

aMute's new album out on Humpty Dumpty Records in next september 2011 !

Hi folks, it seems like I'm surfing on some good vibes lately as my new album is confirmed to be out on the Belgian label Humpty Dumpty Records

What can you wait from it ? Well it's a solo record, it's a deep dark dive into a quite different world than before. It's noisy, strange and was made mostly with guitar amps/noisy keyboards/destroyed voices and no marijuana at all.

As said in the past postings all I can say is that I really wanted to reboot aMute, not only because I wanted to preserve myself from self destruction with the band but also because I feel like in some ways I may have lost the essence of the project while trying to have a recognition as a band. aMute is Jérôme Deuson will always be despite all the love, talent, friendship and creativity my past fellow partners had.

So now comes the mastering/cover art/duplication process.
September here I come ! Cheers folks !

aMute second time nomination at "Les Octaves de la Musique"

It's with a great pleasure that aMute is nominated in the "electro" category at the next "Octaves de La Musique" which acclaims artists from the french community of Belgium.

Change

Hello everyone,

During these past few years I've been trying my best in putting everything all together with band mates and relations. Today I feel that there's a kind of change all around me, music isn't quite my cup of tea from time to time, and sometimes, on a day like I feel like playing for hours.

But I am happy to announce that my new record is  now 97,8% done. I don't know if it's going to be an aMute album or a Jérôme Deuson one but it's the first solo album since 2006, the name doesn't really matter. So I'll soon be in the always pleasant process of finding a label in these magnificent times where music sells millions of CD's every second ;-)
You'll be updated. All I can tell you is that it is the darkest album I could make for one of the darkest year of my life.

As for the band... well things have changed again. After two guitar players, three drummers, three bass players I thought it could be the right time to stay put for once. So we're thinking of mabe changing the name of the band, no aMute for the band, aMute for the solo, or Jérôme Deuson for the solo... : Who gives a shit ? People prefer to listen to original music of Belgian bands with names starting a "The" than taking the time to read those lines. And I don't blame that.

There's a compilation available here for free with a track I did for Tsukuboshi label where I was asked to use sound banks of Tunisian field recordings.

Check it out.

Unlucky with the weather makes us happy with you anyway.

So here it is, the Brussels Summer Festival is now over and we had fun though the weather looked like a Tsunami campaign from the sky. Here are a few photoshoots by our friend Bartolomeo La Punzina as a souvenir.

We are currently working on a new album as a band and I can also see that the timing of my new solo album (which will be released under my name actually) is now overpassing 25 minutes ! Work in progress as always but I keep the good vibe.

We'll be performing on next 22nd of January at the Centre Culturel de Jette in Brussels.

Cheers !

See you next time Japan

Hello to all,

My venue in Japan had to be cancelled two weeks ago for personnal reasons. But anyway, no regrets. The strike of Lufthansa on monday and tuesday wouldn't have allowed me to take off from Brussels and now there's this Icelandic ash cloud coming and all flights are cancelled.
So no regrets and see you next time.

Cheers.
